A great guitar or bass amp (would recommend guitar). 100 Watts of pure loud and recently had it looked over by Jim at Amp-head and he modded it to more desirable black-face specs. It has two inputs for each channel and it can run two cabs from the head. Very basic controls and awesome tone. Not much to say beyond this.

Here's a 79 ric 4001 for sale. This bass is one of a kind. A bit scuffed up, has various chips in the paint on the edges and buckle rash on the back, but it plays and sounds like a dream. Sad to see it go but i can no longer afford to keep it. When i bought it a few of years ago, someone had wired an additional selector switch and replaced the pickups. So i put a ric toaster pickup in the neck and wired it back to the original specifications and have taken very good care of it since. Comes with hardshell case.

An almost new Fender Deluxe P Bass Special 4-String Bass. I bought it in July, and I am the original owner from a smoke-free home. No nicks, dings, or dents, it's been babied and gigged with only once. It has a Jazz neck, a P Bass body, and a P/J combination pickup array with Vintage Noiseless pickups and active electronics. The P body is a little smaller and lighter, the J neck slimmer and faster, and the combined pickups give you an endless amount of killer tones to get for many styles of music. A gold vinyl pickguard sets the Deluxe P Bass apart visually, and its satin-finish neck feels worn in from the get-go. I have it dialed in 1/2 step down with super low action. I recently picked up a 5-string and don't really need this anymore, she needs to go somewhere where she'll get played.

These are going for about $649 new, and I've seen them used in the high $500's, so my price is firm. I would, however, be interested in a trade for a decent 4x10 cab (8 ohms).

How This Site Came To Life

I Have always loved the Bass Guitar, For that mater anything bass, I am the one who turns the bass up on everything, The TV the car radio the alarm radio ,CB radio , you name it I had to turn the bass all the way up. And if that was not enough I would turn the tone or treble all the way down or off.

Cannot really explain this other than my brain craves the bass sounds.

And I have left quite a pile of blown speakers in my trail, During a lifetime of Craving the bass.

Finally as a adult I got smart and started playing the Bass Guitar, This satisfied my bass hunger

Briefly .But Then I needed to have every bass guitar I seen. Well obviously this was not possible

Financially there was no way I could even begin to satisfy my urge for this compulsion.

But I still had this craving for more Bass , So I just started going online and researching Different

Bass Guitars, All kinds of Bass Guitars there were 4 strings , 5 strings , 6 ,7, 8, string bass’s

Even Some with more than that if you count the different Sticks.

And Instead of just looking then moving on to the next Bass Guitar, I decided to catalog all

these Bass Guitars pictures and files I was looking at, Well it did not take long for this catalog to get pretty big. And one of

my band mates at the time suggested I put all my archives of bass guitars on a blog or website.

This sounded pretty good because, that would give me a platform to share them, In stead of just having a bunch of files on my hardrive. Just in case there are others out there with the some strange obsession ... hmm . for bass guitars..

So I started a blog it was around 2005 or 2006 , And my bass blog came to life. It started on a free Blog-spot blog , And remained there about 4 years , And One day I was reading somewhere

Where Google was eliminating some blogs with out even notice, If they deemed them as

What Google considers a spam blog, Now trying to find out the definition of any thing Google

Slaps a name on can be very difficult at best, Or just impossible. So trying to decipher what exactly

Google classified as a spam blog, Was for me to exhaustive, So afraid of loosing my Bass Fix

I bought a domain name , And turned my little catalog of bass stuff into a legitimate website.

Now its 2010 And my little catalog has turned into close to 1000 pages of Bass Guitar info,

That I have amassed thru research and hours and hours of writing all original content.

And Comes to find out there are some strange caricatures in this world that have a passion

for of all things Bass Guitars. I even have taken on a couple of part-time writers.

This helps mix it up really well, And in-fact I am interested in taking on more part-time writers.

No matter How Great You Are At Your Instrument, There Are Times We All Could Use Some Help.

Ater All We Are Responsible For The Timing Of The Whole Band.

This calls for strict training, And I Mean with a little divice called A

Metronome. This is used by Bass Players and also Drummers to help them keep as close to perfect time as possible.

The Metronome comes in many styles and fashions, But Basically they all do the same important thing, They keep perfect time, And Produce either a sound or a blinking light or most often both.

Metronomes usaully run on batteries or a wall charger. And get pretty good miliage out of your batteries.Alot of bass players use a drum machine to practice with ,And this is a great way to practice. You not only set your beats and rythyms, But you can even set special timings like cymbals on down beats, Hi hats, Double Hits on the Kick ect.ect. But can be a challenge financially with getting the right setup,Amps Ect.

Models differ but most allow a wide pattern of tempos and timings you can preset, Some Like the one I Use you can even program ahead , Beats that

even change mid song. And have visual blinking lights, Or even head phone jacks. You can even run through headphone amps and let the whole band in on being in perfect time. A nice.little feature for practicing sessions.

Less experienced Bass Players Probably get the most benefit from using a metronome, And should at least never practice without your Metronome.It may not be possible at gigs to always use a metronome, But Practicing with one is a must, In your development years and even beyond that, Afterall we are always learning, And that should never stop. The one I use is loud enough you can hear it over drums live music and all , And with headphones even more so.

You will soon get used to it ,And without even realizing it you are playing

with so much better understanding of timing you will for sure wonder how you managed with out a metronome before.Your Band mates will be glad you got on board the metronome bandwagon for sure. And being a leader like Bass Players are, Its important to be accurate. So use your metronomes and use them always you will be a better Bass Player and thats what we want right?

The metronome I Use is more for a drummer but I really like it better than any others I have tried out . Here Is some info on the Metronome I have personally, And Use It every day .

The Tama Rhythm Watch

The Rhythm Watch has a digital display that shows you the tempo you are playing at , as well as the time signature it is counting at. Very straight forward design that is easy to read, and easy to follow. There are 2 led lights one on each side of the display that keep time for you as well. One is red, which can count quarter notes, or half notes ect, while the other is green which can count all the notes in between. This is nice to have if you are more of a visual type person. All in all, the Rhythm Watch is a decent looking device. If we care about looks, Really this device really delivers in all areas!

How the Rhythm Watch Works

This is where Tama’s metronome really shines – its playback. Obviously it performs all the tasks any metronome does, and that is keeps time with a series of beeps , clicks and lights , However, the extra unique features that are included are what set this device apart.

First off, there are Various and numerous different sounds you can choose from. This makes things really cool if you get sick of the constant and boring beep that other metronomes use. With these sounds, come different tones within the sounds. This is nice because you can change time signatures, accents, and Downbeats and customize the whole rhythm, Most other metronomes will only count straight quarter notes in a constant tone.

The Rhythm Watch will actually keep you in the right time signature you want to use, by highlighting one count on the beat of your choice And keeping track of the rest of the rhythm with with different clicks ,So You Have it all , Each part of the sound is delivered in recognizable tones,This Is A Great option not found in most metronomes.But standard in the Tama Rhythm Watch...

On the front, you can’t help but notice the 6 smaller dials spread across the middle of the metronome. These are easy to use adjustments that make this metronome one of the best. First off, the dial on the far right is the master volume, very self explanatory.

The one right beside that is the Beat dial. This raises the volume of the beat that you have selected it to play. The other dials all work similar to this. each of them controls a different sound that all together combine to make the rhythm of the song you are working on.

When you start your click track, there will be no sound. Then You start to choose and add more clicks till you get the style of Rhythm that you want. This is done by adjusting the different dials.

There are 4 different clicks you can choose from – quarter notes, eight notes, 16th notes, and triplet notes. You can also mix and match these. Say if you want an 8th note triplet count, simply raise the volume on both dials. You can have them all turned up; however, it tends to sound rather busy.

There are a certain number of beats that you can play too. This is done by selecting the beat you want with the button, and turning up the Beat dial.
You Also have a Tap button where you can simply tap your own rhythm
into the machine right from your head, Where its been stuck for.... How Long?

There is a Mode button, Prog. Button, Beat button, and Store button on there as well. The Mode button switched your time signature, while your program button allows you to store up to 20 different pre set counts. Very easy to personalize!

The best part about this metronome is its’ easy to adjust interface. There is a huge dial on the front right of the metronome that allows you to adjust your tempo very fast and efficiently.

Another thing is the volume of the click. I have heard some pretty quiet metronomes; however this one is fairly loud. Being a metronome for a drummer, this only makes sense.

Conclusion

The Tama Rhythm Watch metronome is a handy little device. With a quick and easy to set up click track and a volume that you can hear,

Starting in a new band can be A little un comfortable sometimes,
If The band has already been together awhile and its just
you coming in new,
These can be hard times, More so if you really
dont know anyone.

The best things you can do in this situation, Is Try to relax,
Be Friendly, Let Your playin speak for you,
They did audition you and hired you,
So no reason to feel nervous, As soon as you get
the song list down, You will feel lots better.
Try not to get to personal right off the bat,
Dont spill your guts and tell your life story,
Take some time for that,

You Dont want to say anything, That Could show weakness,
Nor Do you want to act like a prima donna,
Show up on time,
Offer to help with the lifting and loading,

Learn your parts
Make suggestions that might improve The situation
only when you are sure of the outcome.
Some members might think bad things
if you seem overly critical or suggestive
Right at the start. Afterall they got along this
far with out you, They might be thinking
Just play it by ear and
keep that lookout for personality conflicts ,
For me it never fails there is going to
be one guy who is going to put you thru the more
rigorous test either of talent, Or Worse yet Patience.
Seems there is always one in every crowd,
Who Knows this guy
might end up your best friend in the end.
Being a stranger in a new crowd,
Has many possible outcomes,
And some depend on how you
handle yourself at the start.
Try not to show off your superior intellengence
presuming you have some,
No body likes a smart ass or even a
smart bass player for that matter,
At least not smarter than they are
even if its obvious. Just wait a while

Epiphone Thunder Bird Goth

Well I Went to Guitar Center the other day and grabbed one of those thunder bird bass off the wall. They had one of those little Mark Bass Combo Amps sitting there so I Played . Through That I Loved that little amp. it sounds great a great little combo amp .As For the Thunder Bird, All I Can say is sweet, It was A

Goth style Thunder bird it takes some getting used to with the balance of the body But I Was sitting down, So that took away from the off balance feeling the bass had. Now dont get me wrong I`m totally sure I Could get used to the feel of it in no time. And I`m sure alot of people have. I Found the neck and finger board very comfortable to play. I t looked like a real dark ebony or a dark rosewood finger board.

finger board very dark color I Guess that goes with the goth style.

A nice looking bass guitar, With Excellent tone The Two Jumbo Ceramic humbuckers with seperate vol and tone for each was a great combo for that clasic rock sound.
I just had the best time trying to figure if the bass was upside down.
I thought maybe Someone special ordered it or something, But No just me being strange,
Funny how you get used to playing a certain instrument, And every thing else seems foreign. This Goth Thunderbird did that to me but a great experience,
By the way Recomend any of you Young Rockers to try out one right away

Study The Bass Guitar Not Just Play It

One Thing I Have noticed even about my own bass playing is,
The further I Go in learning the bass guitars purpose
the more I Know about the instrument all together, The Better I Play.
As the years go by, I Look back and notice my
playing has evolved. But More so has my
understanding about the instrument. And I Credit the
understanding of the instrument to
be fully responsible for any playing improvements
I Might have made.

Younger players that only focus on learning the
notes to songs, Do themselfs a in justice by not fully
learning the type of music, The song came from,
Alot of todays popular songs, Have roots
that came from music gone by. It could be the writers
early influence, In a certain music genre
Or A Old song had imspired the new style .
Alot of things can effect music.
And I Really encourage young players to explore
the roots of modern music to bring out some
hot new ideas , For music in the near future.
Because they are all there.
Hidden in our Standard jazz music, Our Cowboy Westerns,
Our Folk songs of the turn of the century. And The Blues
From the Deep South Dixie Land Era Even The Big Band
Days they all contain the roots to our modern music,
Spend some time listening to some of this great old music
You Will Be pleasently surprised As To how good this music
was, And Not a bit boring.
That Is if you trully are a musician.

Well if you have been playing for any amount of time, Chances are you have at least had your Jack Plug Go Bad or something worse. Then trying to figure out where all the wires go after they have come loose can be a real problem,

Well its friday, No Gigs Today But Sunday A Huge Get Together With My Muscial Buds.
(Cant Wait) Its always fun when the whole band gets together, It has not happened for a while.
Just alot of writing sessions with individual members. We Have Not Had Everyone in the same room for about 8 weeks. Its Great To Go Over Everyones recent song writings, We Kinda put them in a huge hat, And pull out the ones we want to pursure As A Band, Then start working on them. I`m paraphrasing here but thats the sum of what happens.
And usaully have a great time these sessions last 7-8 hours. So Today I Am taking my bass down to the doctors. I Normally do my own work on my eletronics inside my basses.
But lately I Have had some issues with my #1 thats got me bothered. So I`m heading out to have it checked.
This is a good idea even if you are a wiz, Which I Am far from. Just because sometimes others can notice things that you might have gotten used too, But might not be right.
So even if you know your stuff electronically inside your guitars have someone else check them out just once in a while. It Could Pay Off... later - (*!*) -

Fernandes Tremor

Fernandes Tremor electric bass with single coil pickup at the neck and humbucker at the bridge. Controls consists of separate volume controls for each pickup and one tone control.
The bass has a great setup to play easily and it sounds very good. The bass is in perfect shape with no dings or scratches, the neck is a very smooth satin finish that plays perfect. The tuners are good quality and hold excellent tune. It is also quite a light weight so it's fun to play.

But Figured I Better get on the band wagon before someone else.
Welcome to the lab! Whamola Laboratories is a research and development workshop devoted to instrument creation and bass tone experimentation. Brin Levinson Started building these basses in 2004 in his shop in Portland Oregon. Being the only high end Whamola shop in the world, his handmade instruments can be found as far away as Ireland and Australia.

The Whamola is a rare and unusual instrument. Therefore it makes sense that each one is made one at a time by hand. Credit for the instruments fame and moniker goes to the great bass player Les Claypool who introduced it to us. The Whamola is played by plucking, slapping and bowing while also incorporating a pitch lever and fingerboard. Well we have looked at alot of guitars over the last 2 months,
Unfortunately for ME we still have a ways to go to get them all covered.
Did You ever think there were so moany brands?

Then inside the brands are literally hundreds of models.
Its Mind blowing, I Think I`m getting close and find more that I have
never even heard of before. So On we go
Also I Wanted to touch on the cheapest electric bass guitar.

The Everly Brothers
This Story To What I have learned starts or at least we pick it up in Brownie Kentucky.
Its Feburary 1 1937 Don Everly is Born into a musical family, Father Ike Married The girl next door and Her name was Margaret Embry. The Couple soon moved to the Chicago area Where Ike And His Brothers Belong to a family band. Where they would play harmonizing country music in the poker rooms and beer halls Born About 2 years later is little brother Phil Everly, Who comes along Janurary 19 1939.. Things are going well for the Everlys Playing music in Chicagos beer halls .
Father Ike even bought one of the very first electric guitars.. And With His brothers Charlie And Leonard. Who all had moved north to Chicago to get away from the hard life of coal mining.,Were playing all the pool halls and bars of madison street.
But Even with their success Ike And Margaret wanted the more stable rural life for their boys Don And Phillip.. So In 1944 Ike took a job at a radio station in Waterloo Iowa., Sure that a good job at a radio station would be more Stable For The Future Of His Young Family. But Ikes Brothers Charlie And Leonard Stayed behind in Chicago.
Ike got young Don And Phil playing Guitar at a very early age. And It was not long they were also singing backup harmonies on live radio at the Station where Ike Worked.. This Proved To Be A Great training ground for the Two young Everly`s Boys. They Developed a vocal harmony with each other, That Would later help shape The Music Industry..
The Boys Finished school in the shanandoah Iowa Area, And After that they moved to
Nashville Tenn. There They Got Jobs as writers of songs For Cadence records. And Acuff -Rose Music company. And Later taking Wesely Rose As their Manager.
The Brothers First Big Hit Song However Was Not Even Written By Them. It was a song written by Husband and wife writers, Felice And Boudleaux Bryant, But Did Make The Everly`s First Million Seller The Year was late in 1956 the song Bye Bye Love. And Believe it or not "Bye Bye Love" Was rejected by other acts popular at the time like Elvis But Went On To Be number 2 on the pop charts Thanks Elvis..
This Mega hit united the brothers with the song writing couple, And Thru Archie Bleyers Owner Of Cadence Records, The Team Went On To Record Many More Hits. Hits Like

I Really get jazzed up playing instruments I dont normally play.

Have You Ever Switched Instruments From what your normal instrument is ?
If you have not already tried this Be Sure You Do ... or if you do it now, Then I`m Not Telling you anything New, If You Ever are In the position to set in and play a strange instrument, I Just mean by Strange is that Is,If You Normally Play A Piano and get a chance to say play a trombone ,Or Something Totally Different And You Have The Chance To Try It Out.In a live jam or practice situation , Go For It ,Same as a Bass Player Might Try Out A Horn Or A Drumset. It Makes You Think About Some other Responsibilities In The Whole Scope Of The Song Or Track. And it had the effect on me like: I now have A Better Understanding Of The Whole Song,Like Looking at it totally different.

We Always Play With Other Musicians, But do we really listen to their every part
Or Are We Kinda Listening ,But Also Kinda Mainly Only Thinking About Our Next Part To Play,
When You Try A New Instrument Alot Of Times You Play A Different Part Of The Big Picture Than What You Are Used To.
And 4 Me I Learn A New Part Of A Song, That I Really hadn`t Given Enough Thought To Or

I Guess I Had not Noticed The True Role That This particular Instruments Making To The Mix .
I guess This Might Come Naturally For Some highly talented Multi Instrumentalist, But I`m Not Sure That Matters either
Or Maybe Its Just Me ,

But Getting Familiar With The Other Instruments roles in the songs you are playing, Wakes up A Different view of the music all together.

For Me It also helps my timing, And Enables me to better keep track of the exact location we are on in the song ,

Its Hard for me to explain in words, Because we know we should always know what location we are on in the song structure, But other than my bass lines I Really have not always paid attention to detail for the other instruments notes and chords that they play,

But if you know this information,
You can actually expand your bass lines, And perhaps grab a couple nice little fills to add to your bass parts to enhance, the other instruments.

And In the end result it makes the mix alot more lively and full. This Is Not always a good idea depends on the type of song you are playing, But Its Fun To Get Off The Roots Once In Awhile Or More Often.

But It Sure can wake up a boring arrangement real nice. And A Change Of Pace, Is Rewarding Because You Are Learning Something And Thats Always Good -(*!*)-

I Have Mentioned Before About When You Are Developing Your Bass Playing Style
How Important it is to record your practiceing So Later You Can Refer Back.

Today I Want to touch on another aspect of development for your style of play.
Its Also very important , In My Opinion.

This Involves Playing With Other Musicians. It Does Not matter at what level your playing abilities are at , As Long as the other musicians Will Put Up With You,
Then The Sooner The Better.

It is helpful to have some general knowledge of chord and note locations on the frettboard, If For nothing else but not getting embarassed when someone else calls out, "This will be in C Major". It would be nice to know just where in the hell that is right?

So if you are just starting out, And Its A Fact we all were at some point. (nobody was born with bass playing knowledge ) Make A Point to learn your basic note positions Quickly. Then get to know some musicians, As soon as possible, So You Can
get in the mix (as they say ). This helps build your style and your all around bass playing knowledge. And Getting the feel for playing with others, Getting the feel for playing in front of other people, I Could go on and on just how much this helps playing with other musicians. Not Counting The Fun Involved.

If You dont know any other musicians, Go On Craigslist.com online and go to the musicians section its right by the top of the first page. check in there. You Can even post your own ad for playing partners. Just Be honest about your abilities.

call a brick wall with your progress. You Know that Old rut where you cannot move on past a cetain level or plain its l;ike you get to a spot with your creativity and come to a dead spot.
Then it seems like everything sounds the same. Same ole licks same ole notes Same ole songs.

Its happened to me more than once, But this time I`m taking a proactive approach to this
stagnation. I`m going out and taking some advanced Bass lessons for a few weeks or a
couple of months. I Found a instructor that builds a teaching program custom fit to your
Needs. And builds you a teaching program to fit your personal style..

Nobody wants to start at the very begining learning something over that you already know.
This way you start in right where you feel you need the help. And everything you do is then progress. It makes more since to me. After all progress and moving on in my playing is what I
Was seeking, Not relearning boring scales for the 10th time. I`ll let you know how this works.

Dont Know Where Some People Get Their Ideas. But This One Came Along Way

AS DESCRIBED BY THE INVENTOR/ BUILDER OF THE BASS: This bass is steamy, creamy, dreamy, mucky, malaria-infested, and organic. Hepatitis and Dengue Fever immunizations required before playing. Wash your hands afterwards to prevent the spread of disease throughout the land. Neck and pickup from an Indonesian Ibanez Roadgear Bass, resonator from a blown-up 15" Hi-Fi Loudspeaker. Resonator Housing cut from a 15" Floor Tom Drum Shell. Decorations from various estate sales, and the leg (which unscrews for easy transport) came from a Hammond Organ. The strings are held in position in the bridge using drops of "Better-Than-Nails Handyman's Glue" from a tube. Using glue instead of screws allows me to minimize the weight of the bridge and thereby make the bass louder. When you put new strings on this bass, you'll need to lock them in place with that glue. Take care not to knock the bridge loose from the speaker cone when you do.

Although Alot Of us are weekend gigers, Play For A Little cash on the weekends.

Description of Cajun/Zydeco Cajun music, the broad folk style of Southwest Louisiana, was created by diverse people coming together under adverse conditions. French, Creole, Anglo-Irish, and African-American outcasts brought strains of their music together, and over time added fiddles and the German accordion to what had been an A Cappella form.

By the 1920's, drums, guitars and Country Blues elements were brought in over the two-step waltz beat of traditional Cajun fais-do-do music. In the '50s, Creoles kept the accordion-based sound of Cajun music but considerably revved it up with highly danceable R&B and their own unique mix of the English and French languages. Queen Ida, a French speaking, bespectacled grandmother, rocks harder on her accordion than the entire roster of a Lollapalooza festival. Creole music and culture also influenced New Orleans R&B and soulful Funk acts such as the Meters and the Neville Brothers.

Cajun and Zydeco remained the almost exclusive music of two distinct cultures until the '80s, when America went wild discovering Louisiana's music and food with movies such as The Big Easy and Zydeco acts like Beausoleil. Louisiana culture has produced a musical melting pot that puts the dream of America into actual practice.

When It Comes To Music, What Part Of The Song Sticks In Your Mind ? Is It The Catchy
Words Or Harmony`s ? Or Is It The Driving Rhythym Section ? For Me Its Either Or,
And I Think For how many people you ask , You Might Get that many different answers.

Just Like every song is different, Everyone listens to songs differently also.

Do You Ever Hear A Song or even part of A Song, Then You Just Cannot Get It Out Of Your head ? This happens to me on regular basis, Usually I Wake up that way in the morning.
No Kidding at least 6 days a week I Have a Song Of Some Type In My Head When I wake up.

Some Times Its Just A good rythym, Like A Strong Bass Beat With A Solid Drummer,
In fact These Rythyms Stick with me longer than the catchy vocals do, The Vocals I Can
get rid of by just listening to another song, This Seems to help get the voices out of my head

Clean Your Amplifier Some Time

I Wanted To Touch On SomeThing We Tend To Forget Sometimes.
That is cleaning our amps switches and pots (dials). These Controls On Our Amps can become Dirty And Clogged up with dust, And if you play in clubs cigarette Smoke Residue,
The occasional Spilt Beer ,Or What Ever, And can cause some malfunction sometimes.

The Procedure is not that difficult to do but if you are unsure of your ability, Or concerned
about warranty issues, Take your amp in to have it cleaned At A Minimum of 1 time a year.
Your Favorite music store should have a regular repair guy or gal that can service your amp following your warranty information to the letter. This Will prolong the life of your amp,
And improve the performance of any dirty amp new or however old it may be.

The Simple Procedure Is This : For every pot or knob that turns on your amp.
You Need to spray it with some cleaner, Not Just Any Cleaner Will Do However.
This Is VERY IMPORTANT It must be Electronic Cleaner. There Are Many Brand Names.
I Buy CRC QD Electronic Cleaner Its specially designed for electronic equipment.

First with your amp turned on No instruments plugged in, Turn your amp all the way up
on the volume knob, Now Turn all your knobs one at a time back and forth, What Do You Hear ?

You Should Hear Nothing, But if you hear static or crackling noise, They Are Dirty And need cleaning. First turn off and unplug your amp, Then pull the knobs off by just pulling even pressure straight out, Caution Some amps have a set screw on the side of the knob, Either
a allen screw or straight or Phillips screw driver will take it off.

Once you get the knobs off, Spray a small amount of electronic cleaner spray right at the post
of the knob about 1 second of spraying straight down or straight at it (do not spray at a angle ) for each knob should do.
Let this set about a minute, Put The Knobs back on, Then turn them back and forth
Many Many times , This Lubricates and cleans the pots.

Now repeat the same thing for all your sliding switches, And Take a clean rag and wipe up the excess spray, you can even give a little shot of spray in your jack holes, To Clean them up.
You Can Repeat this for your floor pedals too.

Just Remember dont over soak any of your amp parts, Use the one second rule of spraying.
After you are done if they still crackle with static, try it one more time,
After That If You Still have Noisy pots and switches, You Better get them replaced.

With A Little regular Maintenance you will find you are replacing fewer and less often of your amp switches and pots. And Your tunes should improve in sound quality.

Tips For Getting Off To A Good Start For Beginner Bass Players

Playing bass is plain and simple, just play the music from the heart, feel the piece and let the listeners enjoy the melody. Here are a few basic tips that could help beginners.

Make a decision about the bass sound to be played. Will it be like a real smooth bass player or just a machine going wild over the sound? It will depend on the rhythm you want to use.Just remember until you get in shape or get used to playing the bass
The Faster The tempo the sooner you will tire. And Its even possible to get cramps
in your forearms or fingers. It Has Happened to me and I`m Sure Everyone who has played the bass.

Then Concentrate on keeping good solid time, Pick a rhythm or beat and play it over and over and over and over, And See how well you are keeping a good steady time.
A metronome is handy or just a drum machine, or even a cheap keyboard with a built in drum machine will work.
Or If you are lucky enough to have some other musicians, Who will jam with you and help you out keeping good time, They Will surely let you know almost immediately
if you are screwing up.

It’s not against the rule to do some personal recordings to listen to yourself, No matter your experience level recording helps alot. Every time I practice even alone
I record it, Then play it back and listen to it carefully.

Pick yourself up a second hand recorder if nothing else, If you have good equipment great use it. But by all means get a recorder of some type .Even a little cassette with a built in mike will do the trick.

Also there are cd programs out there fairly cheap that teach the basics, And if you have any natural rhythm or talent it should come fairly easy to get your first few grooves on.

Avoid making bass melodies that can cause difficulties when playing. Start out making it comfortable as possible for yourself, If you try to get to complicated at the beginning you might get discouraged and playing will not be as enjoyable. Some parts of the bass can be very attention grabbing especially if the rhythm is extremely fast. The trick is keeping the frets static until the melody changes. Like playing drums, bass can be recurring as well, Alot of times the bass lines are very repetitive so manage to break lines and chords for some variety. It is not bad to go back to the first simple bass chords just to avoid having a “wreck” with the sound at the end.

Stay in your comfort zone at first so to make sure you enjoy yourself thats the most important. After you start to accomplish some small tasks that you set for yourself.
then move on and get a little more complicated. Just do not get discouraged. It does take a while. But Within a week if you have any talent at all. You Should be playing a few lines without to many problems.

Remember that too much of a good thing can turn out badly, the same with playing bass, when exaggerated, it could ruin the whole piece. A little Variety is great try some different types of tempos , Like blues slow , blues fast, Rock And Roll, Maybe some country, Try Some jazzy stuff Just Mix It Up A Little....... Enjoy playing!

Slap and pop" and tappingThe slap and pop method, which is a mainstay of funk, uses tones and percussive sounds achieved by thumping (or "slapping") a string with the thumb and snapping (or "popping") a string or strings with the index or middle fingers. Bassists often interpolate left hand-muted "dead notes" between the slaps and pops to achieve a rapid percussive effect. This bass has treated me very well. She's been around a little while and shows signs of normal wear, ie: small dents in the head stock, light surface scratches on the back. but she looks fine from a couple feet away and plays great. made in mexico, comes with gigbag.
